Hoop Group Summer Classic East: Part 1

The live period continued at the Hoop Group Summer Classic East AAU event in Neptune, New Jersey.  It's the closest many of us will get to the beach during this busy month of July.  Here is a look at the top performances that we saw on Saturday.

Mid Atlantic Select

Andre Hodo (2010, 6-4 SG/SF)
Andre is a tough and active forward who gets it done around the hoop.  He had several finishes inside.  He worked hard on the glass on both ends of the court.  He flashed his athletic ability on a dunk too.  Andre missed a pair of three pointers and if he shows more from the outside, his stock will rise even more.  He's already proven to be a fine player though.

Zaid Hearst (2011, 6-4 SG)
Zaid played well in the contest.  He was at his best when driving and finishing at the basket.  He's a good ball handler.  He also hit a jumper from the outside in the victory
