This youngster is undeniably raw but when you see a 6-10 15-year-old you have to take a closer look. In Walker's case we found someone who could catch well enough, had good feet, soft touch around the rim, and already the ability to step out to 15 feet and make shots. He'll need to develop the strength to play through contact and some type of low post game, but he's got plenty of change in the meter to start.

 

• Mid-Atlantic Select has two under the radar swingmen who should both see a steady dose of recruitment this summer. Garland Owens (Rockville, Md./Magruder) is a long and smooth 6-5 swingman, and Nigel Pruitt (Potomac, Md./Bullis) is an explosive 6-7 athlete.

 

Adam Finkelstein has been a coach or scout at the high school, college and pro levels. He was an assistant coach in Division I by the age of 24 and also worked as a scout for Marty Blake, the NBA's director of scouting.
